WORKSHOPS

Cathy teaches a range of art and textile workshops to adults and children, with a specialism in teaching crochet. Workshops for adults combine technical, practical skill-building, alongside a playful approach to applying new design and making skills to personal creative projects. Textile workshops discuss how our clothes and objects are made, and how, in engaging personally with those skills required to create them, our relationship with our consumption of textiles might change.

Alongside her specialism in crochet, Cathy teaches workshops in a variety of mediums including natural dying, drawing, sewing, knitting, as well as children’s art and craft sessions. With a belief that creativity is good for us, and should be available to us all, Cathy strives to work on projects and with organisations that have skill-sharing, inclusion, and collaboration at their heart.

Cathy taught knit and crochet courses at Morley College and Make Town, and has facilitated workshops at The Southbank Centre, Royal Academy of Arts, and Bestival. As part of the Brainchild Festival team, she has run numerous workshops, community teaching projects, and open making sessions. She has also taught a variety of creative workshops to all ages at Oxford Dance Camp over the past 10 years.
